Bayezid II
The 8th sultan of the Ottoman Empire. Succeeding his father Mehmed II, he ruled from 1481 to 1512. He is also known for welcoming Sephardic Jews into the Ottoman Empire after the fall of the Kingdom of Granada in Spain in 1492 and the issuance of the Alhambra Decree. In his final years, he lost a succession struggle to his son Selim and abdicated.
