Milan Kundera: Master of Literary Irony

Milan Kundera

Milan Kundera is a world-renowned novelist originating from Czechoslovakia who sharply depicted the oppression of totalitarianism and human absurdity through representative works such as "The Unbearable Lightness of Being". Facing the Prague Spring and the subsequent Soviet military intervention, he suffered political repression, experiencing bans on his publications and expulsion from university positions. He emigrated to France in 1975 and continued to observe his homeland's political suffering and European history from a free environment.
