The Architect of Prussian Military Reforms
Albrecht von Roon
Military officer and politician of the Kingdom of Prussia. He served as Minister of War from 1859 to 1873 and supported Prussian-led German unification alongside Wilhelm I, Otto von Bismarck, and Helmuth von Moltke. He promoted the organization of conscription, expansion of the army, and army reforms, contributing significantly to Prussia's military successes in the Second Schleswig War, the Austro-Prussian War, and the Franco-Prussian War. In 1873, he was appointed Field Marshal and Prime Minister of Prussia, but resigned in the same year due to health reasons.
