Formulating Laws of Planetary Motion
Johannes Kepler
A German astronomer, mathematician, and natural philosopher of the Holy Roman Empire. He established Kepler's three laws of planetary motion, which showed that planets move around the Sun in elliptical orbits, making a major contribution to the formation of modern astronomy. Utilizing the extremely precise observational data of Tycho Brahe, he studied planetary motion and left significant achievements in fields such as optics, geometry, mathematics, and calendar making.
