Francis Crick and DNA Discovery

Francis Crick and DNA Discovery

Francis Crick

British molecular biologist, physicist, biophysicist, and neuroscientist. Together with James Watson, he proposed the double helix structure of DNA and, along with Maurice Wilkins, was awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He also made crucial contributions to understanding how genetic information flows from DNA to RNA to proteins, and to the deciphering of the genetic code. In his later years, he worked at the Salk Institute in the United States on research concerning consciousness and brain function.
