An American journalist, feminist, and social activist. Known as a representative figure of second-wave feminism from the late 1960s through the 1970s, she popularized the women's liberation movement as co-founder of "Ms." magazine. Involved in a wide range of social movements including gender equality, reproductive rights, civil rights, and anti-war efforts, she became a symbolic figure of the American women's movement from the late 20th century into the 21st century.
