Zhang Chunqiao

Emerging as a leading ultra-leftist theoretician during the Cultural Revolution, Zhang Chunqiao mobilized Shanghai labor forces and served on the Politburo Standing Committee. He championed the dictatorship of the proletariat and radical mass movements before being arrested and tried with the Gang of Four.
